Who may join IMHE?

  • Membership is open (subject to the Governing Board approval) to institutions of higher education in any OECD Member country and certain non-member countries. Government departments, agencies and other non-profit organisations dealing with issues in higher education management are also welcome to join.

 

What are the advantages of IMHE membership?

Participation in activities and conferences

Members are entitled to take part in all activities organised by or in collaboration with the IMHE Programme, including:

  • Reduced registration fees to attend the biennial General Conference of member institutions; seminars on specific topics; members benefit from reduced-price participation and preferential booking.
  • Special invitations to other OECD Education conferences and seminars.
  • Training courses and study visits.
  • Opportunities for networking and information exchange with other members.
  • If you are elected, you may participate in the IMHE Governing Board and become part of IMHE's work programme decision-making process.

Affiliate benefits

IMHE has formed an affiliation with the Consortium for North American Higher Education Collaboration CONAHEC, so that IMHE members may benefit from:

  • A reduced fee of 15% when signing up for CONAHEC membership.
  • Reductions to attend the (CONAHEC) conferences.

NB: Institutions who are already members of CONAHEC may benefit from a reduction of 10% of the annual IMHE membership fee (this applies only after expiry of the initial 2-year introductory rate).

How to join?

Fees

  • The normal institutional membership fee for 2009 is 3400 Euros.
  • There is a lower introductory rate of 2100 Euros for the first two years for new institutional members only. This special rate is for individual higher education institutions only and does not apply to collective bodies, ministries or groups of universities.
  • The fee is payable proportionately, effective from the confirmation of the date of registration.
