Biography
In September 2007, Katharina joined the Development Centre as a Carlo Schmid Fellow. Her current research focuses on private sector development in Africa, notably in agriculture, adopting a business perspective.
Previously, she obtained her Master’s degree in International Peace Studies from the UN-mandated University for Peace in Costa Rica where she specialised in Economic Development. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations with focus on Economics from Dresden Technical University and studied International Economics at the Université des Antilles et de la Guyane.
Katharina’s work experience includes consultancy for a private company in the pharmaceutical industry, volunteering in a children’s project in Guatemala, advocacy work for Amnesty International Chile and collaboration with the Human Rights Centre and the Centre for Executive and Professional Education of the University for Peace.
